Dior and I

A film by Frédéric Tcheng

*Dior and I*

*Available on DVD 22 June 2015 *

An irresistible and charming film, *Dior and I* was a theatrical hit when it launched in March, critics and audiences alike were wowed by the intimate and authentic telling of life inside the legendary fashion house of *Dior. * Directed by *Frédéric Tcheng (**Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel, Valentino: The Last Emperor**)* *Dior and* *I* is a sneak peek inside the exclusive world of fashion as the label introduces its new creative director *Raf Simons,* who has just eight weeks to deliver his first Haute Couture collection. Dogwoof will release *Dior and I* to *DVD 22 June*, the film features fashion heavy weights such as *Anna Wintour, Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard* and *Marc Jacobs* and the DVD will include a director commenatry.

Raf Simons was known in the fashion world as a menswear designer, minimal and pared down, so it was with surprise that he was made creative director of Dior in 2012, a fashion house known for its sumptuous gowns and intricate embellishments. Filmmaker Frédéric Tcheng follows Raf from the moment he is introduced to the atelier staff, through the entire eight weeks leading up to the Paris show: from concept to design, to making the fabrics, to selection of models, and finally to the runway and unveiling of the collection. The access is intimate and raw, as viewers are granted a rare and candid look inside the pressure cooker of Haute Couture fashion.

Known for his films on fashion and fashion icons, Frédéric Tcheng ties in the heritage of Dior and the presence of the house’s founder Christian Dior over the whole design process by using excerpts from Dior’s own writings. The result is a film that’s an insider’s view of modern fashion but with an
eye on the foundations of the past.
