When an unusual classified ad inspires Seattle magazine writer Jeff (Jake Johnson – New Girl) to look for the story behind it, he takes interns Darius (Aubrey Plaza – Parks and Recreation) a live-at- home college grad with a chip on her shoulder and Arnau (Karan Soni), a studious Biology major, working at the magazine to build his resume, with him on his mission to profile the person behind the preposterous ad.
However, no sooner have the mismatched trio checked into their hotel, their hard-partying boss Jeff abandons the job to track down a long lost love who lives close by, therefore prompting Darius to assert herself as the lead reporter and discover their subject – a mysterious eccentric named Kenneth (Mark Duplass – Your Sister’s Sister, Zero Dark Thirty), a likable but paranoid supermarket clerk, who believes he’s solved the riddle of time travel and intends to depart again soon.
Together, they embark on a hilarious, smart, and unexpectedly heartfelt journey that reveals how far believing can take you.
