STARRED UP

OUT ON DIGITAL HD ON 14 JULY & BLU-RAY & DVD ON 4 AUGUST

The grippingly tense and critically acclaimed STARRED UP is out on Digital HD on 14 July and Blu-ray & DVD on 4 August from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

STARRED UP is the brutal and brilliant film telling the story of Eric (Jack O’Connell: This is England, Harry Brown, Eden Lake) – a teenager whose violent behaviour in a young persons’ borstal results in being ‘starred up’ to an adult prison where his father, Neville (Ben Mendolsohn: The Place Beyond the Pines, The Dark Knight Rises), is also an inmate. Caged amongst the older, more violent prisoners, Eric, disaffected and disengaged, turns to violence as his form of expression.

Voluntary counsellor Oliver (Rupert Friend: The Young Victoria, Homeland) slowly connects with Eric using group therapy sessions, however the prison staff – in particular the sinister Governor Hayes (Sam Spruell: The Hurt Locker, Defiance) – have little interest in the rehabilitation, or welfare, of the prisoners.

STARRED UP is a powerful, unflinching glimpse at the life of a youth that society has given up on. Enjoy the best British drama of this year as STARRED UP showcases new talent, an incredible performance from Jack O’Connell, and a magnificent debut from writer Jonathan Asser.

The Blu-ray and DVD feature exclusive content including behind-the-scenes clips, featurette and a Film4 interview with Jack O’Connell and David Mackenzie.
