*The Legend of Shep Gordon*
*On DVD 13th October 2014*
*Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon *is the debut feature from *Mike Myers* (Austin Powers) that explores the fascinating life of his good friend *Shep Gordon* – the man behind the success of many household names such as *Alice Cooper*, *Anne Murray, Blondie*, and *Teddy Pendergrass*. *Dogwoof *is proud to release the DVD on the *13th of October, * with tantalising extra features including an exclusive Q&A with Shep Gordon hosted by Danny Leigh.
The film gives insight into the inner world of Hollywood and show business, and through various interviews with Shep’s A-list friends such as Alice Cooper, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Douglas, it becomes clear that his profound role in shaping what the entertainment industry is today has ultimately made him more legendary than the television and music legends he helped create.
In his directorial debut, *Mike Myers* (*Wayne’s World, Austin Powers*) documents the astounding career of Hollywood insider, entertainment guru and legendary manager Shep Gordon. Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon is an affectionate tribute to the man who steered the careers of acts such as Alice Cooper, Anne Murray, Blondie, and Teddy Pendergrass, who fell into music management by chance after moving to LA straight out of college, and befriending Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix. Shep managed rock stars such as Pink Floyd, Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass and Alice Cooper, and later went on to manage chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, ushering in the era of celebrity chefs on television. Stuffed with fantastic archive footage the film traces Shep’s transformation from the 1970’s hedonist to today’s practising Buddhist yearning for a family of his own.
