You may not know his name, but you certainly know his work.

Terry Ackland-Snow has worked on more than 80 feature films, including two James Bonds (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and The Living Daylights), Aliens, Batman, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Labyrinth, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He’s also contributed to numerous classic TV shows such as The Avengers, Dangerman, and Inspector Morse. 

From being held hostage by a wannabe film crew in Jamaica, to forgetting to add doors to the Batmobile--Terry has been there, done that. This March, The History Press will be releasing Terry’s remarkable memoir, in which he shares his wild anecdotes and fascinating experiences of working with the great and the good in movie-land.

Terry Ackland-Snow has has worked on film sets since he was 18 and has been the Chair of the British Film Designers Guild, as well as an adjudicator for the BAFTAs. He now teaches art direction training courses at Pinewood Studios. 

His co-author, Wendy Laybourn, has worked in the film industry since the early 1970s and has spent the past few years helping the future generation of filmmakers to understand the skills and crafts involved
