Frasier Season One Unboxing

It’s getting increasingly difficult to know what year it is. It seems like for every original film or television show, we get two reboots, remakes, sequels, or prequels. Paramount+’s Frasier is arguably two of the above – a reboot and a sequel. Almost twenty years since the last episode of Frasier (which confusingly this reboot shares the title with, despite starting again with Season One), Frasier sees the titular psychiatrist (Kelsey Grammar) return to Boston to make amends with his estranged son. Expect the usual biting wit and pomposity from the beloved character as he is surrounded with new characters and hilarious situations. This series is far from perfect, but it’s a loving throwback to the 90s sitcom style (complete with live studio audience), and it’s hard not to enjoy Kelsey Grammar’s on-screen presence. Over many years of playing the character, he has become Frasier Crane – and his company can never be a bad thing, even if some of the jokes might fall flat on their face.

Synopsis

This new series follows Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston, Massachusetts, with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill. The new series also stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor, Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia; Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate, Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David. Catch up with Frasier Crane in this 2-disc DVD set that includes every episode from Season One plus an exclusive gag reel.
