Hidden Assets Unboxing

The ‘superbly dark and twisted’ (The Guardian) Irish-Belgian noir series Hidden Assets, as seen on BBC Four, finished airing its acclaimed second series at the end of last year. Now, fans can own the complete collection on DVD from Acorn Media – allowing for some wonderful twisty bingeing. This engrossing crime thriller is perfect for fans of Line of Duty – but be warned, it’s addictive. You better set aside a few days because you’ll be on the edge of your seat throughout each of the four discs…

SERIES 1: A routine raid led by Emer Berry, a detective in the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau, reveals that a small-time drug dealer has been receiving substantial funding from a seemingly untraceable source – not in cash, but in rough diamonds. When these diamonds are linked to a series of bombings in Belgium, Emer must work with Police Commissioner Christian De Jong. Caught up in this web of intrigue are the Brannigans, a wealthy Irish dynasty with ties to Antwerp. Drawn into a battle of wits with the family, the detectives must follow the money to stop another terrorist attack before it’s too late.

SERIES 2: Having retreated to Ireland, Bibi Brannigan approaches CAB with a deal following an attempt on her life. But there have been changes in the team and the new lead DS Claire Wallace is skeptical. However, when the current danger can no longer be ignored, Claire along with Christian De Jong embark on a lethal, high stakes investigation.
