Samuel LoveThe casting of John Krasinski – The Office’s Jim Halpert – as CIA analyst-turned-hero Jack Ryan certainly came as a surprise to those who were only familiar with Dunder Mifflin’s sarcastic, floppy-haired prankster. But the first episode of this explosive TV adaptation of Tom Clancy’s beloved character squashed all doubts as Krasinski proved himself more than able to fill the shows previously worn by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. This addictive thriller is one of television’s finest action series, packed with unforgettable set pieces and compelling narrative. It’s an unmissable series that could just be the definitive iteration of the character, and is available now in a complete series Blu-ray boxset.
