Samuel LoveThe conceptually ambitious Jitters uniquely mixes police procedural with tech-horror and an evil AI clown, and while it may not pull off its lofty goals and tie all these disparate elements together, there’s a lot to like in this indie chiller. With echoes of Wes Craven, Jitters is a fun, low budget horror/thriller that feels timely – and you have to respect the filmmakers’ attempts to push themselves and do something original with its premise and delivery. Jitters isn’t going to join the pantheon of horror clowns alongside Pennywise and Art anytime soon, but genre junkies will still have a blast with this one.
Synopsis
A city is gripped by fear following a series of brutal murders, drawing in veteran detective Collymore, a single divorced father struggling to balance duty and home life. When he stumbles upon the mysterious death of a young woman named Tiffany, the investigation leads him to a disturbing presence known only as Jitters. As paranoia mounts and reality begins to fracture, Collymore must outsmart a killer who thrives on fear itself.
