This beautiful film illustrates the tumultuous and often tragic life of Maria Callas, the iconic opera singer who spent her last years living largely in isolation in Paris before dying of a heart attack at age 53. Boasting a captivating career-best performance from Angelia Jolie in the title role, Maria is a sad story, beautifully told. 

Synopsis

Directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie, Spencer) and starring Academy Award®-winner Angelina Jolie, MARIA tells the glamorous, moving story of the iconic opera singer, Maria Callas. Paris, 1977: Once the world’s greatest soprano, Callas now hides in an apartment, having lost her voice and retreated from the world. She dreams of returning to the stage, but can her body and mind take the pressure?
