McQuarrie Heading To Ice Station Zebra?

Christopher McQuarrie, the writer behind The Usual Suspects and the man who wrote and directed Tom Cruise to Jack Reacher heights, has been hired by Warners to write and direct a remake of Ice Station Zebra.  While rumours persist that McQuarrie is the man to guide the next Mission Impossible movie this may have to come first.  The original Ice Station Zebra hit screens back in 1968 and starred Rock Hudson and Ernest Borgnine.  Based on Alistair MacLean’s novel, the story sees a US submarine racing to the North Pole to, supposedly, rescue the crew of a weather station there.  But when a Russian sub seems hell-bent on beating them there it becomes clear that something at Ice Station Zebra is worth a great deal.  The rumour is that Cruise wants his Reacher writer-director for the next Mission Impossible and it could be that Warners are willing to wait if McQuarrie heads off with Ethan Hunt et al.  Source – The Hollywood Reporter

Alex Moss Editor

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email:
