McVicar Unboxing

Back in the good old days, a rock band could launch a film production company, and produce a crime biopic with their lead singer in the title role. Simpler times, eh? Produced by The Who Films, McVicar sees Roger Daltrey tell the story of armed robber and prison escaper John McVicar

The cult classic makes its Blu-ray debut thanks to Fabulous Films with the ‘Break-out Edition’, boasting a cracking new documentary and an insightful booklet telling the story of the film’s production.

Roger Daltrey gives a powerful performance as McVicar in a film that is shocking, brutal and full of gritty violent realism. Based on the true life story of professional British criminal John McVicar, the film strongly depicts the brutal aspects of British prison life and follows McVicar into his eventual rehabilitation. The screenplay was written by the director Tom Clegg and John McVicar, based on McVicar’s autobiography.
