A Prophet Getting English Language Remake

A Prophet, the Oscar nominate French film from Jacques Audiard, is looking to get the English language remake treatment.  The original saw Tahar Rahim as a young Arab who is sent to prison wherein he experiences an existential journey before slowing working his way up in the French mafia.  Neil H. Moritz is the producer behind the remake and he has a little experience with prison set drama having produced TV’s Prison Break.  The original though is in the same bracket as Oldboy in so far as it’s a foreign language film that has a core fan base who will no doubt approach the remake with trepidation that this is nothing more than a cash-in on an already successful story.  Let us know what you think in the comments below.  Source – Sony Pictures Entertainment via Coming Soon
