David S. Goyer, the writer behind Batman Begins and Man Of Steel, is looking to write an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s seminal graphic novel Sandman. Sandman tells the story of Dream, or Endless to some, who rules over the kingdom of dreams. Having been held hostage for over 70 years he escapes and returns to his kingdom only to find it crushed. In order to rebuild his power, Dream must adapt to the modern world he now occupies but not before he’s undertaken some good old fashioned revenge. Sandman is a deep and rich graphic novel series, the kind of story that would flourish on the big screen from a visual point of view. But it would require a big budget and is not the most widely known comic book character. Goyer has pitched his script to Warner who are said to be very responsive so there is hope that Dreams may come true for Gaiman fans. Furthermore, Goyer has earmarked The Dark Knight Rises star Joseph Gordon Levitt to play the titular character. What do you think? Is JGL right for Dreams? Before that we’ll see Goyer’s script for Batman Vs. Superman as well as adaptations of Justice League and video game Metal Gear Solid. Source – Badass Digest
