Blade Runner, the Sci-Fi classic released back in 1982, has found a new writer to re-draft the long gestating sequel.  While many were concerned that Blade Runner would be getting a sequel, despite the involvement of original director Ridley Scott and writer Hampton Fancher, it’s likely that concern will only grow with news of who has been hired to re-draft the script.  The man in question is Michael Green who, having recently done work on Spielberg’s Robopocalypse and Mosses film Gods And Kings, is most famous at this point for his script of Green Lantern.  Irrelevant of his Green Lantern script, Green is clearly a man in demand with big directors and it would be a fool to assume Spielberg couldn’t have his pick of writers but chose Green for Robopocalypse.  Little is known about the Blade Runner sequel other than it will take place a few years after the original but it’s unclear at this point whether or not Harrison Ford will be returning to the role of Deckard despite him not ruling it out and clearly not having a problem with re-visiting some of his famous characters.  The original was based on Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep and has gone on to be considered one of the greatest films ever made to the degree of being included in The United States National Film Registry as elected by Congress.  Source – Alcon Entertainment and The Hollywood Reporter

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
