Bradley Cooper, last seen in The Place Beyond The Pines and soon to be seen in The Hangover Part III, is set to take the lead role in Chef. Not to be confused with the similar themed Jon Favreau film of the same name, Cooper’s Chef will see the actor as a top culinary man in Paris who loses his job after a run of bad behaviour. Getting his life cleaned up he heads back to Paris to set up his own restaurant in the hope of regaining the Michelin stars he once took such pride in. The film already boasts Untouchables’ Omar Sy and also has Marion Cotillard and Michelle Williams interested in parts. The film was at one point set to be directed by Cooper’s Place Beyond The Pines director Derek Cianfrance from a script by Eastern Promises’ writer Steve Knight. While Cianfrance has since departed, John Wells, who has recently finished work on ensemble film August: Osage County, will now be the man behind the megaphone. The Weinstein Company are behind this film and are also claiming naming nights over Favreau’s rival film which is a comedy boasting Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. Before he gets embroiled in a film incarnation of Master Chef, Cooper will next be seen opposite his Silver Linings Playbook co-star Jennifer Lawrence in Serena before re-teaming with Silver Linings director David O. Russell for American Hustle. Source – Deadline
