Christina Hendricks Heads To Dark Places
Christina Hendricks, the actress best known for bossing around TV’s Mad Men, has joined the cast of the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s Dark Places. The film already boasts Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz and Nicholas Hoult and will be directed by Sarah’s Key director Gilles Paquet-Brenner. The story follows Libby Day, a girl whose family were supposedly brutally slaughtered by her brother Ben. Years later Libby is approached by the Kill Club, a group of people who suspect that Ben was not in fact the killer that night, despite his silence and Libby’s testimony otherwise. Through flashbacks and Libby putting the pieces of that night back together she soon begins to unearth demons from her own past and unravels a mystery much darker than she ever thought.
Flynn also wrote the much anticipated Gone Girl which has David Fincher set to direct Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in the lead roles. Hendricks meanwhile has recently finished starring in her Drive co-star Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut How To Catch A Monster. She’s currently working on another co-star’s directorial debut in the shape of Mad Men’s John Slattery who is directing God’s Pocket. Note to aspiring first time directors; hire Hendricks.
