Stephen Lang, the actor best known for his villainous role in James Cameron’s box office behemoth Avatar, is returning to the role for the upcoming three Avatar sequels.  “But wait”, you say, the last time we saw Quaritch he had a substantially large Na’vi arrow sticking out of his chest.  True, but as director and Avatar creator James Cameron has pointed out, this is a sci-fi story so frankly anything is possible.  The King of the World went on to say that “Stephen was so memorable in the first film, we’re privileged to have him back…his character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga.”  There’s no doubting that Quaritch was a fantastic big bad in Avatar, and people transferring bodies is something well established in the Avatar-universe but how do you feel about Quaritch returning?  Good idea and if so how will he come back?  Terminator style via time-travel?  A clone?  Or maybe as some bizarre nature spirit with evil intentions who turns into a gloopy smog monster, posses a big chainsaw and starts cutting down the Na’vi trees?  Oh wait, that’s Fern Gully.  Source – Deadline

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
