David Fincher In Early Talks For Steve Jobs Film
David Fincher might be busy putting the finishing touches to his adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl but that hasn’t stopped him holding early talks to direct the Steve Jobs Film. If he does sign on to direct the film it would see a reunion with The Social Network’s Oscar winning writer Aaron Sorkin who has been busy adapting Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography about Jobs into a screenplay. Jobs was the visionary head of Apple who was often said to be unapologetic about his treatment of both his staff and company but whose results speak for themselves with the emergence of Apple of one of the world’s leading brands. Jobs was subject of another film last year which starred Ashton Kutcher in the title role but the less said about that the better. Sorkin and Fincher clearly know how to bring prickly genius to the big screen as was evident in The Social Network’s Mark Zuckerberg. Sorkin had recently said that he saw the Jobs script as no more than a handful of scenes all revolving around Apple Key Note presentations. Frankly the way Sorkin writes he could adapt the phone book and make it riveting. Pray Fincher signs on to bring his visual brilliance to Sorkin’s magical words. Source – The Hollywood Reporter
