Emma Watson, about to be seen in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and no stranger to a bit of fantasy adventure after Harry Potter, is set to star in Queen Of The Tearling.  The film will be based on Erika Johansen’s planned fantasy trilogy about a princess called Kelsea Glynn.  After an ecological disaster a new land mass appears and becomes a newfound kingdom.  Three centuries later Kelsea must try and reclaim the kingdom known as Tearling from the dark magical forces of the evil Red Queen.  Johansen has stated that the idea of the book came to her in a dream and was then cemented after she heard a speech by Barack Obama the following day.  Watson will reteam with one of her Harry Potter directors David Yates for the project with Warner Bros overseeing the project.  Before she gets her fantasy back on Watson will be seen later this year in This Is The End before filling onto an ark two-by-two for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.  Source – Variety

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
