Fassbender To Play Macbeth
Michael Fassbender, last seen as a head in duffel bag in Prometheus and soon to be seen in Twelve Years A Slave, is set to play one of the most iconic roles of all time in the form of Macbeth. The new incarnation has been adapted by writers Todd Louiso and Jacob Koskoff and will stick to Shakespeare’s language and maintain the 11th century setting. But of course what Macbeth really needs is a bit of grit, blood and general unease, enter Snowtown director Justin Kurzel who is looking to instil buckets of blood and violent battle scenes. Fassbender will play Macbeth, the Scottish lord, who with the help of his scheming wife and three witches seizes the throne. Before he gets his bard on Fassbender has a host of movies upcoming with a Terrence Malick project coming out later this year as well as Ridley Scott’s The Counselor before donning his cape for X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
