Franco to hear The Sound And The Fury
James Franco, last seen in Oz The Great And The Powerful and about to hit cinemas in This Is The End, is turning his attention, once again, to directing and starring in an adaptation of William Faulkner’s The Sound And The Fury. It will be the second time Franco has adapted Faulkner having recently co-written, starred and directed in As I Lay Dying which premiered at Cannes this year. Franco is re-teaming with his As I Lay Dying co-writer Matt Rager to tell the story of an aristocratic Mississippi family who fall on hard times. Franco will take a lead role in the film as well as directing but is already eyeing other actors to fill out the cast. On his ‘to hire’ list is Franco’s This is The End, Your Highness and Pineapple Express co-star Danny McBride as well as little brother, and current Now You See Me star, Dave Franco. But the real coup would be if he managed to bag none other than Mad Men’s Don Draper, aka Jon Hamm. Before that we’ll see Franco in the likes of Richard Peter Johnson, another directorial and starring effort in Child Of God and drama with Olivia Wilde and Chloe Sevigny in Black Dog, Red Dog. Which ever way you cut it Franco is a very busy man. Source – LA Times
