In all the havoc caused by the Sony hacking scandal one interesting slice of information has come to surface.  In an email from Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal and Ivan Reitman, the producer and director of the original two Ghostbusters films, it has emerged that there are a number of very high profile names anxious to be part of the Ghostbusters franchise.  Pascal’s email heavily implies that the new Ghostbusters film will be the jumping-off point for a new franchise and the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Lizzy Kaplan, Melissa McCarthy and Amy Schumer have all said they want to be part of it.

The film will be directed by Bridesmaids’ Paul Feig who has form in creating films with funny ladies at their core.  Original Ghostbuster Bill Murray recently commented that he believes the best way to take the franchise is to start again with an all female gang of Ghostbusters.  This email certainly implies that Pascal is hopeful that is the direction the new franchise will be heading.  For now though we’ll have to just wait and see, or maybe consult Gozo The Destroyer in the hope she has some answers. Source – Cinemablend

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
