Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard are no strangers to each other having collaborated no less than four films together.  Their most recent team-ups have been based on Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons so it should come as no surprise to hear that the pair are now looking to bring another Langdon adventure to the screen.  The book in question is not the third in the series which Hanks and Howard had been looking to make in the shape of The Lost Symbol but Inferno.

Inferno sees Langdon suffering from amnesia while in Italy.  As if that wasn’t bad enough he has to unravel a cunning mystery that revolves around Dante’s Inferno.  Of course if he can’t stop the evil-doer responsible for all this the world will be changed forever so he finds a bit of help in the form of Doctor Sienna Brooks who must help Langdon recover his memory if he is to succeed in solving another mystery involving all manner of science, art and hidden codes.

Howard is currently putting the finishing touches to his true-life Moby Dick story Heart of The Sea with Thor himself Chris Hemsworth in the lead role.  He’s also rumoured to be attached to the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard book but Inferno may push that project back.  Hanks meanwhile is all about reuniting with old colleagues as he’s currently starring alongside While You Were Sleeping’s Meg Ryan in her directorial debut Ithaca.  Source – Deadline

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
