J.K. Rowling must have missed the world of magic, wizards and witchcraft as it seems the Harry Potter writer has been convinced by studio Warner Bros. to return to the world of Harry Potter, albeit without Harry himself. Rowling will adapt her expanding book of the Potter universe Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them, which will likely mark her first screenplay. The book itself exists in the Potter-verse and is by Newt Scamander. The film will follow Newt as he goes on all manner of adventures looking for Fantastic Beasts, starting in New York and going who knows where via broom, Floo or Portkey. The story will start around 1921, about 70 years before Harry arrived at Hogwarts, meaning that while we will encounter some familiar faces those hoping for cameos from the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are likely to be disappointed. So what do you think? Are you excited to see more of Rowling’s wizarding world or is this an attempt to coin the phrase “milking it”? Source – Warner Bros.
