Javier Bardem, last seen in Terrence Malick’s To The Wonder before giving James Bond a run for his money in Skyfall, is set to join two new projects.  First up he’ll join Margin Call director J.C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year; an ‘80s set cooperate thriller which will see Bardem as a New York heating oil tycoon willing to go to extreme lengths to protect his business from lawyers, teamsters and bankers.  Following that Bardem will join Sean Penn on Pierre Morel’s The Gunman.  Based on Jean-Patrick Manchette’s novel The Prone Gunman, the story will see Penn as international operative Martin Terrier who is betrayed by the people he works for before going into hiding and plotting his revenge.  There’s no word on who Bardem will play but given his villainous duties in Skyfall it would be good to see him as a big bad that Penn is hunting down.   Before all that Bardem will next be seen in Ridley Scott’s The Counselor.  Source – The Wrap

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
