Joanna Lumley Narrates War Horse LIVE
First it was a book, then an award-winning play, then a tear-jerking film with Tim Hiddleston. Now War Horse: The Story In Concert comes to the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 27th October.
The World Premiere will see national treasure Joanna Lumley OBE FRGS and the author Michael Morpurgo take take to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall to read the poignant, emotionally-charged novel with musical accompaniment from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Lumley is one of our best-loved actresses, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous – a role she revived for 2016’s Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. Lumley is an advocate of human rights activist for Survival International and the Gurkha Justice Campaign and supports a variety of charities and animal welfare groups.
Lucy Noble, Director of Events at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Joanna to the Hall for his unique, one-off celebration of War Horse. The combination of Joanna, Michael, the RPCO and designer Rae Smith sketching live on stage will be an unforgettable marriage of flawless storytelling and magical music.”
