Bottom Line

Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick, stars of Song For Marion and Pitch Perfect, have both signed up to star in The Voices. Unlike their more recent films the film will not be about singing but instead a psychological thriller. The film already boasts Ryan Reynolds as Jerry Hickfang, a bathtub factory worker whose life is a little odd. He falls for a woman in accounting but when she turns up murdered he is presumed to be the killer. Thankfully Jerry is able to talk to his benevolent pet dog evil and cat who offer him no end of helpful advice. The film is listed as a crime drama but with those kind of characters you’d have to assume theirs going to be just a smidge of comedy thrown in. Persepolis writer director Marjane Satrapi is directing the film from a script by Paranormal Activity 2 writer Michael R. Perry. Before that we’ll see Arterton bare her fangs in Neil Jordan’s Byzantium while Kendrick will appear in Get A Job opposite Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston. Source – Deadline
