Kristen Stewart Could Accompany Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk
Since she put her Twilight days in the rearview mirror Kristen Stewart has been making more interesting career choices and could now accompany Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. The film is being directed by Ang Lee, who last directed the Oscar winning Life Of Pi, and will be written by Slumdog Millionaire‘s Oscar winning writer Simon Beaufoy. So this one has award potential written all over it.
Based on the book by Ben Fountain, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk jumps between the past and the present as eight US soldiers take to the field during the half-time of an NFL Dallas Cowboys Game while also telling the story of their time in Iraq. The film is said to put a slant on the ideas of America’s hero-worshipping ways in regards to their soldiers who fight overseas. So almost an answer to the flag-waving military recruitment antics of American Sniper.
The cast already boasts Steve Martin, Garrett Hedlund and Brit newcomer Joe Alwyn in the title role. If she signs on Stewart would play Billy Lynn’s big sister. Before that though Stewart, who recently impressed opposite Julianne Moore in Still Alice, has such projects as Clouds Of Sils Maria and Drake Dorms’ Equals. Source – The Wrap
