Leonardo DiCaprio Wants To Get His Viking On
Leonardo DiCaprio, last seen as the very proper Gatsby in The Great Gatsby, is looking to roughen-up for Viking project King Harald. The film, if it goes ahead, would chronicle the life of Harald Hardrada, the last great Viking king, who ruled Norway for 20 years before being exiled in Russia and returning triumphant. Of course he would later try and conquer Great Britain only to come unstuck by Harold Godwinson at the Battle Of Stamford Bridge. DiCaprio had previously hoped to play a Viking in a project that Mel Gibson was looking to direct but that seems to have since departed the production slate. Clearly eager to don horns (which is a Viking myth) DiCaprio, and Warner Bros., have bought the rights to Mark L. Smith’s script about Harald. Before all that though DiCaprio will next be seen in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street. Source – Deadline
