On Thursday 17th December at 7.30pm, actor, singer and writer, Paul Ryan will be conducting an on-stage Q & A with Tom Hamilton (director) and Tracy Jenkins (producer) of Leslie Howard: The Man Who Gave A Damn. The Q & A will offer unique insights into the documentary and the stories that behind it. Stories like the tale of the ill-fated Flight 777.  Derek Partridge, the narrator of the documentary, was supposed to be aboard Flight 777 where Leslie Howard lost his life, but was taken off with an adult companion to make room for Leslie.

There will also be additional content and background to the documentary shared by the team, including the difficulty in using the ‘home-movie’ footage which was beginning to decay.  For fans of the man, additional anecdotes will be mentioned, including how the Gone With The Wind producer David O Selznick was so desperate to sign Leslie to play Ashley Wilkes that he made an unprecedented deal – giving Leslie a percentage of the gross in the film (a bonus none of the other stars were offered)!

Leslie Howard: The Man Who Gave A Damn will be screened on Thursday 17th December at 7.30pm at Regent Street Cinema.
