Whilst the San Diego Comic-Con was in full swing delighting everyone with sneak-peaks and superhero announcements there was one very tantalising piece of news that was revealed. First off came the bit about Godzilla 2 going ahead full steam with Gareth Edwards once again sitting in the director’s chair. It was also revealed that next time out Godzilla would face off against franchise favourites Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah. But what followed has, unsurprisingly, set lips a flapping. Legendary took the opportunity to then announce a new King Kong film called Skull Island. While the two separate films by themselves are exciting enough the timing of announcing both creates all manner of possibilities. Not since 1962’s King Kong Vs. Godzilla have the two squared-off against each other. But could Legendary be looking to bring two of cinemas most iconic monsters back to the big screen together? The tech is certainly there to offer something truly city flattening should the two battle each other. Of course it’s all hearsay at the moment and Godzilla 2 is likely to be a few years off given Mr. Edwards involvement in his Star Wars spin-off film. Skull Island meanwhile is scheduled for release on 4th November 2016. So what do you think? Would you like to see a Kong Vs. Godzilla movie or is that a monster too far? Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email:
