Oscar Winners 2016

After all the boycotting and hoopla the Oscars 2016 threw up very few surprises in announcing the winners at last night’s awards ceremony. Leonardo DiCaprio finally got his little gold man at the fifth time of asking. Room’s brilliant Brie Larson took away Best Lead Actress while Mark Rylance and Alicia Vikander took home the supporting gongs. Alejandro González Iñárritu took home his second Best Director Oscar in as many years having won for Birdman last year but perhaps the one big surprise was The Revenant, despite winning best director, didn’t take home Best Picture.
