Ryan Reynolds, not seen on screen since a brief cameo in Ted but heard recently in The Croods, has dropped out of the remake / reboot of Highlander.  It seems that after the film has seen directors Justin Lin and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo come and go from the project, Reynolds has lost patience and is moving on.  What this means for the Highlander reboot is anyone’s guess but studio Summit are unlikely to give up on the project and instead start afresh by looking for a new star and director to make sure there can be only one immortal.  It would have been nice to see Reynolds’ deadpan approach to the more serious Connor MacLeod, not to mention his sword skills from playing Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine would have come in handy again.  Not to worry though Reynolds fans, he’s soon to be seen opposite Jeff Bridges in R.I.P.D. before heading over to Queen Of The Night and The Voices before, in theory, getting his sword out for a Deadpool movie.  Watch this space.  Source – The Wrap

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
