Justin Timberlake, last seen opposite Clint Eastwood in Trouble With The Curve and soon to be seen in The Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis, has signed on to star as famous 1970’s record icon Neil Bogart in Spinning Gold.  The film will chart Bogart’s life from a poor kid in Brooklyn who went on to shape the popular music scene of the ‘60s and ‘70s in which he helped discover and nurture such talent as KISS, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers and Gladys Knight among numerous others.  Bogart died prematurely in 1982 aged just 39.  Bogart’s son Timothy Scott Bogart has written the script for the film having developed it with Timberlake.  Timberlake and Bogart will take the project to the Cannes Film Festival in the hope of securing funding for the film.  Timberlake has a number of films in the pipeline with Runner Runner, alongside Ben Affleck, next up for the Social Network star.  Source – Foresight Unlimited via Coming Soon

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
