Alicia Vikander, the actress last seen in A Royal Affair and Anna Karenina, is in talks to join Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer in the big screen adaptation of The Man From U.N.C.L.E.  There is no firm word on who Vikander will play other than a spy working for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement who likes fast cars and is helping Cruise and Hammer try to take down the evil organisation Thrush (no that’s not a typo).  At one point the film was set to be directed by Steven Soderbergh with George Clooney in the Cruise role.  Clooney then dropped out to be replaced by Bradley Cooper before the project was put into turnaround.  Now Guy Ritchie is set to direct from a script by Contagion and The Bourne Ultimatum writer Scott Z. Burns.  Last week Vikander was said to be in talks to join The Beach writer Alex Garland’s directorial debut Ex Machina, what is known is she’ll be seen in Julian Assange film The Fifth Estate before starring opposite Ewan McGregor in Son Of A Gun.  Source – Variety

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email:
