Scrooged Unboxing

Another big 4K UHD debut from Paramount, Richard Donner’s Scrooged is a charmingly cynical take on the beloved Christmas Carol tale starring comedy legend Bill Murray. Considered one of the best ‘alternative’ Christmas films and considerably ahead of its time, this scathing media satire is packed with opportunities for Murray to do his dry, vitriolic shtick in a truly hateful role not often found in festive favourites – it was arguably only topped many years later by Billy Bob Thornton’s Bad Santa. Paramount’s sparkling new 4K UHD master will be required viewing this Christmas season, especially for those who like their yuletide a little darker.

Celebrate the 35th anniversary of an essential holiday classic, remastered for 4K Ultra HD™ and featuring hours of never-before-released special features. Frank Cross (Bill Murray) is a modern-day “Scrooge”– a mean, nasty, uncaring, and unforgiving TV exec ready to unleash a live broadcast of A Christmas Carol around the world. But, before the night is over, he’ll be visited by his dead-as-a-doornail boss (John Forsythe), a maniacal cab driver from the past (David Johansen), a present-day fairy packing punches (Carol Kane), and a ghoulish, seven-foot headless messenger from the future. Both hysterical and heartfelt, SCROOGED is an updated take on a familiar favorite. Yule love it!
