Samuel LoveThe Last Showgirl features Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis at the top of their game, and it’s honestly baffling that neither got the awards recognition they deserved. Anderson is incredible in the lead – she is totally captivating here in what will surely be a career-defining role. She really should have been in the conversation for Best Actress. And Jamie Lee? Her performance here is far more deserving of a win than the one she actually took home an Oscar for in Everything Everywhere All at Once. It’s a real shame the film flew under the radar during awards season, but thankfully it’s now available on DVD and Blu-ray from Picturehouse Entertainment, so people can finally see what all the fuss should have been about.
Synopsis
When the glittering Las Vegas revue she has headlined for decades announces it will soon close, showgirl Shelly (Pamela Anderson) sets out to plan her next act. Reconciling the decisions she’s made and the life she’s built, she decides to repair her complicated relationship with her daughter (Billie Lourd).
