The Salt Path Unboxing

The Salt Path, a poignant and delicately-paced adaptation of Raynor Winn’s bestselling ‘memoir’, brings the hugely successful book to life with gorgeous cinematography and heartfelt performances from Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs. That said, recent controversy surrounding the author and questions about the source book’s accuracy have cast a shadow over the story’s authenticity and tainted this adaptation somewhat, which is a little unfortunate for those involved in the film. If you can get past the controversy and enjoy the film as a piece of fiction without that baggage attached, it’s a lovely little film – but it is a little difficult to look past the fact it is built on the lies of its author.

Synopsis

Based on Raynor Winn’s bestseller, The Salt Path tells the emotional and life-affirming story of a couple whose connection with the natural world helps them overcome challenges and ultimately reconnect with one another.
