Train to Busan and Peninsula Unboxings

2016’s Train to Busan and its 2020 standalone sequel Peninsula are among the best zombie films out there, and so it is great news to finally have them on 4K UHD thanks to StudioCanal. Both films look extraordinarily good on the format, and will make an essential part of any horror collection. Big fans of the series may be disheartened that there is no confirmation as yet of a 4K UHD release for the animated spin-off Seoul Station, but having the two live-action entries in this format is certainly cause for celebration.

TRAIN TO BUSAN Synopsis

As an unidentified virus sweeps the country, the Korean government declares martial law. As the country descends into chaos, one city, Busan, is rumoured to have successfully fended off the virus outbreak and remains the only beacon of hope for those not yet infected. But when the virus breaks out on an express train to Busan, passengers on board must fight for their own survival.

PENINSULA Synopsis

Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in TRAIN TO BUSAN, the zombie outbreak thriller that captivated audiences worldwide, acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho brings us PENINSULA, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation on the quarantined peninsula with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.

TRAIN TO BUSAN and PENINSULA are available now on 4K UHD from StudioCanal
