Ben Stiller: Top Ten Comedy Moments

In Features by FilmJuice

To celebrate the UK cinema release of Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb on 19th December, FilmJuice tales a look back at some Ben Stiller comedy moments that left us in stitches…

Happy Gilmore – Mean Nurse Orderly
This Adam Sandler tale of a rejected hockey player turned golf pro was one of Ben Stiller’s first, notable outings. Playing an easily hateable nurse who terrorises the elderly patients, this is a small yet very memorable role.

Tom Crooz: Mission Improbable MTV Movie Awards
A hilarious short from the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, Stiller plays Tom Cruise’s stunt double, Tom Crooz. Nailing the Tom Cruise laugh, we almost had to do a double take to figure out who was the real Tom.

Starsky & Hutch – Do It, Do It
A remake of the 1975 classic TV series, Starsky & Hutch stars Stiller & Wilson as the original mis-matched cops who have to put their differences behind them in order to work together. One of the many films in which Owen Wilson plays against Ben Stiller, the chemistry between the two is undeniable.

Along Came Polly – Sasquatch Basketball
Starring opposite Jennifer Aniston in this romcom, Ben Stiller is a guy who likes to play it safe and never take a risk. Until Polly comes along. Watch Ben and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman – who also provides great comic relief – in this disgustingly hilarious scene.

Dodgeball – Office
In this modern twist on David vs Goliath, Stiller and Vince Vaughn go head-to-head in a dodgeball battle over the future of Vaughn’s small gym, Average Joes. Playing rival and fitness freak White Goodman, we see Stiller become hell-bent on beating the good guys and winning the girl.

Meet The Parents – Saying Grace
Living the nightmare of meeting the girl of your dream’s parents, Greg (Stiller) tries his hardest (and fails) to impress his girlfriend’s parents, in particular her ex-CIA father. Constantly leaving you squirming in your seat, this is just one of the classically awkward moments on offer.

The Watch – Egging
After starting a neighbourhood watch, four guys (who take their new roles deadly seriously) get more than they bargain for in this intergalactic comedy. Before the threat of alien invasion surfaces, the guys patrol the streets for unlawful youths and troublemakers.

Friends – Step Away From The Duck
In this fantastic cameo in Friends, Stiller plays Rachael’s new boyfriend Tommy ‘the screamer’ in ‘The One With The Screamer’ from 1997.

Night At The Museum – Dexter Slaps Larry
Upon discovering that all the museum pieces come alive at night, Larry the new night watchman gets a lot more than he bargained for during his shift. A clip that never gets old, watch as Larry loses a slap battle with the troublesome Dexter the Monkey.

Zoolander – What Is This? A Centre For Ants?
Here we have the two hottest (and brainless) male models of all time. When Derek (Stiller) is brainwashed and turned into an assassin, his Number One rival Hansel (Wilson) must help save him from killing the President of Malaysia. Almost impossible to narrow it down to just one clip, this scene features one of the movie’s best-known catch-phrases … while showcasing classic Derek-Zoolander thought processes.

Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb is released in UK cinemas on Friday 19th December.
