To mark the arrival of Joe
Wright’s adaptation of Anna Karenina
on Blu-ray and DVD, from the 26th of January, Ham House and Garden in London will be holding a special exhibition
featuring costumes from the motion picture.
Partly filmed in this seventeenth century building, the
latest from the BAFTA nominated director has earned costume designer Jacqueline Durran her third Oscar
nomination at this year’s awards for kitting out Keira and co.
Released on the 4th February 2013, the film
features Wright regular Keira Knightley,
Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and
though it met critical indifference, was undoubtedly a visual triumph. The
National Trust is opening the doors of Ham for a series of exclusive guided
tours as well as the exhibition, which showcases a selection of the iconic
costumes from the film.
Ham House is open for tours of the Anna Karenina Costume
Exhibition from the 26th of January until the 7th of March
(selected days only). From 9th March until 4th April
(except Fridays), Ham House will open to all visitors for the chance to admire
the exhibition unguided. The Anna Karenina Costume
Exhibition at Ham House and Garden is free for all National Trust Members;
non-members are subject to an entrance fee of £11.00 for adults, £5.50 for
children.
