Available on DVD and Blu-ray just in time for Halloween, The Terror’s third season of anthology chills adapts Victor LaValle’s acclaimed horror novel The Devil in Silver. Dan Stevens stars as a man wrongfully committed to a psychiatric hospital who must battle his inner demons in a dark, twisted place where nothing is as it seems. One of the most gripping TV miniseries in a long time, The Devil in Silver is a return to form for The Terror after a disappointing second season and another reminder that Dan Stevens is one of the best actors working today. As the nights get darker and colder, this is an essential, chilling binge – and at only 6 episodes, not a huge commitment. Watch the first episode, and you’ll be glued to your sofa til the finale’s credits roll.
Synopsis
The Terror: Devil in Silver tells the story of Pepper (Dan Stevens) – a working-class removal man, who through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital – an institution filled with the people society would rather forget. There, he must contend with patients who work against him, doctors who harbour grim secrets, and perhaps even the very Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face down the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls – but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.
