Aaron Taylor-Johnson Up For Avenger’s Quicksilver?

In News by Alex Moss Editor

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, last seen in Anna Karenina and no stranger to a bit of superhero action with Kick Ass and its upcoming sequel, is apparently on Joss Whedon’s wanted list to play Quicksilver for Avengers 2.  While Whedon had recently commented that he wanted Quicksilver and his sister Scarlet Witch to appear in Avengers 2, X-Men: Days Of Future Past director Bryan Singer let slip that Quicksilver would also appear in the X-Men franchise.  It turns out that Marvel and Warners share the rights to the character as long as neither mentions their history in the other studios films.  Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are the children of X-Men’s Magneto but later joined the Avengers once they’d rebelled against their father.  While no official negotiations have taken place with Taylor-Johnson, X-Men recently cast Taylor-Johnson’s Kick Ass co-star Evan Peters in the role.  So it all becomes a little like superhero musical chairs.  Before he potentially dons Quicksilver’s spandex he’ll be seen in Kick Ass 2 before heading off to hunt down Godzilla for Gareth Edwards.  Source – The Wrap
