Bradley Cooper, last seen in The Hangover Part III and soon to be seen opposite Jennifer Lawrence in Serena, has officially been confirmed as the voice for Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy fury friend Rocket Racoon. Rocket is a genetically altered – you guessed it – racoon who is a key member of The Guardians Of The Galaxy. The film already boasts Chris Pratt as pilot Peter Quill aka Star-Lord with Zoe Saldana swapping Avatar blue for Gamora green, Dave Bautista will play Drax The Destroyer while Vin Diesel will voice the tree-being that is Groot. They’ll have to face off against villains who include Lee Pace’s Ronan The Accuser, Benicio Del Toro’s The Collector and Karen Gillan’s Nebula. All will be under the watchful eye of Super director James Gunn.
Cooper’s voice casting had been rumoured for a while but with it now confirmed it’s hoped that he can bring some of that dry, original Hangover delivery to the role. Before that he’s got the small matter of starring with Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence (again) for David O. Russell’s American Hustle before setting his sights on American Sniper for Clint Eastwood. Those wondering, yes, Mr. Cooper likes projects with ‘American’ in the title. Source – Marvel
