Comedy Sex Gods

Brace yourself ‘cos unlikely sex symbol Aldous Snow is about to rock your world…

Brace yourself ‘cos unlikely sex symbol Aldous Snow is about to rock your world thanks to the DVD and Blu-ray release of hilarious comedy Get Him To The Greek on Blu-ray and DVD from 1st November 2010.

Reuniting Jonah Hill and Russell Brand with Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller, Get Him To The Greek is the story of a record company intern with two days to drag an uncooperative rock legend to Hollywood for a comeback concert. As the countdown to the concert begins, Aaron must navigate a minefield of London drug deals, New York City brawls and Vegas lap dances to deliver his charge safe and, sort of, sound. He may have to coax, lie to, enable and party with Aldous, but Aaron will get him to the Greek. With Aldous Snow being the latest in a long line of comedy sex gods in film, we thought we’d take a look back at the other hilarious hunks that have been battling it out to stake their claim as the ultimate phallic sex symbol in film!

McLovin’ – Superbad

As mild mannered high school geek Fogell, the girls gave him a wide berth. But a fake ID, bags of booze and a night riding shotgun with a couple of seriously unconventional cops proved that his alter ego McLovin’ was definitely Superbad. He is the man who single-handedly proved that misplaced optimism sometimes pays off and for that McLovin’, we salute you!

Austin Powers – International Man Of Mystery

Where do you start with Austin Powers? A man so cool he makes ice jealous, this swinging superspy swapped the ‘60s for the ‘90s to fight the nefarious Dr. Evil. But a 30-year nap did little to dent his libido as Alotta Fagina, Vanessa Kensington and even an army of robotic Fembots fell victim to his supersexy charm. Oh behave!

Stifler – American Pie

He may have been an arrogant high school jock but Steve Stifler was no slacker when it came to getting his end away. Over the course of three American Pie movies, the Stifmeister certainly saw his fair share of action and even proved to have a penchant for the more mature ladies, as Jim’s grandmother found out. Wrong, wrong – so very, very wrong.

Ron Burgundy – Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy

Mix a perfectly groomed moustache, a taste for fine Scotch and more polyester than is normally safe for any one person to wear and you get the man, the legend – Ron Burgurdy. The lead news anchor at KVWN-TV Channel 4 Evening News in San Diego, Burgundy is a ‘70s icon whose skills with a jazz flute made him virtually irresistible to all women. You stay classy Ron Burgundy.

Deuce Bigalow – Male Gigolo

He may not exactly be a looker but Deuce Bigalow seemed to understand women like few other men – and this fishtank cleaner didn’t even take advantage of his talents to take advantage of his clients. Instead he made disadvantaged dames feel better about themselves. Still they did pay Deuce handsomely for his services so he wasn’t all heart…

Black Dynamite

If you thought Shaft was the blaxploitation sex symbol of choice, you obviously haven’t met Black Dynamite. Despite an army of drug peddlers to be taken down, BD still found time to share the love – even the President’s wife wasn’t immune to his charms. If you could bottle Black Dynamite’s sex appeal, you’d make a fortune.

Ben Stone – Knocked Up

After getting lucky one drunken night, this laidback and chubby lothario found himself nine months away from being a dad, something he was in no way ready for. Admittedly there was an upside though because the expectant mother was the super hot Katherine Heigl, thereby giving the rest of us laidback and chubby lotharios some semblance of hope.

Allen Gamble – The Other Guys

We may have seen him as a straight-laced forensic accountant more concerned with petty construction violations that busting actual bad guys but Allen Gamble was a potent man. Not only did every woman who crossed his path check him out, but he also had the smokin’ hot Eva Mendez at home playing his wife. But the worst thing was he never shared the secret of his success. Selfish Gamble, so very selfish.

Ken ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson – Starsky and Hutch

If you look up the word ‘smooth’ in the dictionary, chances are you’ll find a picture of a grinning Hutch looking right back at you. By day he kept the streets of Bay City safe, along with partner David Starsky, but by night this crooning copper was a bona fide lady killer – just ask the girls of the Bay City Kitty cheerleaders. Never has a man worn chunky knitwear to such devastating effect.

Jeremy Grey – Wedding Crashers

The say that weddings are the perfect place to pick up women and Jeremy Grey turned this into an art form. Along with his wingman John Beckwith, Jeremy spun plenty a tall tale and many vulnerable women fell for his patter hook, line and sinker. But little did Jeremy know that one of his ‘victims’ – the rather unstable Gloria Cleary – would prove his equal and eventually win his heart. Party pooper.

Get Him To The Greek – Available to buy on Blu-ray and DVD from 1st November 2010.
