Darren Aronofsky To Tackle The Good Nurse

In News by Alex Moss Editor

Having gone all biblical for his last film Noah it seems director Darren Aronofsky is getting back to his more intimate, darker roots.  The news is that Aronofsky is slated to direct the story of one of America’s most high profile serial killers.

Based on Charles Graeber’s book, The Good Nurse tells the true story of Charles Cullen who, in 2003 was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for being involved in the murder of over 300 patients.  But these were not mercy killings and Cullen was not deemed a monster by those who knew him making the case all the more sinister.  Graeber’s book describes Cullen as “a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver” – it’s the kind of role that with Aronofsky at the helm could lead to awards for whoever gets the part.

It would seem that Angel Of Death could well be Aronofsky’s next feature project but he is currently working on an HBO adaptation of Margret Atwood’s Maddadam trilogy.  Source – The Tracking Board
