Jai Courtney Set For New Terminator’s Kyle Reese

Jai Courtney, the man most famous for playing Bruce Willis’ son in the disappointing A Good Day To Die Hard, has been cast in The Terminator reboot in the pivotal role of Kyle Reese.  He joins Game Of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke (no relation) as John Connor.  The film is going by the title Terminator: Genesis but it’s unclear if this will be a full on reboot of James Cameron’s 1984 classic or another splinter from that film’s multiple timeline.  The inclusion of named actors playing both John Connor and his father Kyle Reese implies we will see more of the future than in Cameron’s film.  For those out of the time loop The Terminator saw a post-apocalyptic world where the last remaining humans, led by John Connor, battle Skynet and their robot army The Terminators.  Connor then sends Reese back in time to protect his mother Sarah from a cyborg Terminator who in turn knocks up Sarah and so becomes John’s father.  Reese was originally played by Michael Biehn and has since been played by Star Trek’s Anton Yelchin in Terminator Salvation.  Thor: The Dark World’s director Alan Taylor is set to direct with Arnold Schwarzenegger apparently returning as a Terminator, who knew cyborgs could age?  Courtney will next be seen in another future for Divergent.  Source – The Hollywood Reporter
