No Loki Return For Avengers 2

Joss Whedon, who just released his Much Ado About Nothing into cinemas, has revealed that Tom Hiddlestone’s Loki will not return for The Avengers 2.  The character who will return as Thor’s troublesome brother for the upcoming Thor: The Dark World was one of the key highlights of the first film but Whedon has said he does not want to repeat himself.  Talking on the Empire podcast, Whedon discussed the moment when Loki was particularly rude to Black Widow and that while everyone enjoyed it, he made it clear that this time round “Loki is not there to say those terrible things”.  So what does that mean for old Loki?  We know he’s in the next Thor movie but could this spell the death of one of Marvel’s most beloved villains?  Who knows, we’re still hoping that Whedon is pulling a fast one and that, even if it’s just a cameo, Loki will make a small appearance in Avengers 2.  Let us know what you think about Loki’s absence in the comments below.  Source – Empire
