Phil Lord & Chris Miller Could Tackle Ghostbusters 3

In News by Alex Moss Editor

Earlier this week it was announced that original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman was no longer directing the long gestating sequel / remake / reboot / whatever the hell it is.  While Reitman will be remaining involved as a producer the script is having to go through some re-working due to the sad and tragic passing of Harold Ramis aka Egon Spengler.  And so while news will no doubt continue to bounce around as to whether or not Bill Murray will return it seems there is a glisten of slime to Ghostbusters 3’s future.  Nikki Finke is reporting on Twitter that The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in talks to direct Ghostbusters 3.  While the pair clearly has form in injecting life into otherwise defunct creative property in the form of Jump Street it’s their ability to juggle big laughs with fun and exciting adventures that seems to be an ideal fit for the Ghostbusters franchise.  Of course at this point there is no news on what the story will be other than rumours continue to surface that it will see the old guard of Ghostbusters past the torch onto a new young group to carry on the ectoplasm tradition.  Suffice to say if Miller and Lord sign on to Ghostbusters 3 there is hope that the franchise will live on.  All together now “Every thing is Awesome…..”  Source – Nikki Finke on Twitter
